Xian Ni: The Descent of the Plunder System

2026-10-07 · ~6 min read · Xian Ni · character card · Hermes · plunder system

The fiercest art in cultivation civilization is not killing but plunder — of fortune, of destiny, of heaven and earth’s own making. What Hermes forged this day for Xian Ni is exactly such an art, named Lvetian.

I. Settling the canon: three drafts of the scripture

The expedition’s first gate was not card-building but confirming the original text. The master delivered three files one after another: a stitched-together version and a truncated version, both voided; only the third — the Zhixuan corrected EPUB, 2061 chapters, 13 volumes, 6.6 million characters, closing note “The End” — was confirmed as the true complete text. Epic engineering’s deepest taboo is a foundation of sand: the faster a machine scans over garbage, the falser the universe it yields.

With the canon settled, extraction and indexing flowed in one breath: novel_utf8.txt at 129,000 lines, chapter_index.json with 2061 entries and zero misalignment, file-to-chapter mappings complete. A pilot voyage followed — fifty-three seconds producing 20 characters, 9 lorebook entries, and 6 events, finish=stop. The route was viable.

II. Full scan: charting a starfield in 207 batches

The true long march was the full scan: 207 batches, gnawed through 6.6 million characters by deepseek-v4.1-flash, 207/207 complete, zero failures; the seven parse-retry artifacts preserved whole in results/*.raw.txt — evidence of failure deserves archiving more than success. The batch count alone tells the scale: this was not dissecting a book, it was numbering every star in a region of sky.

III. Merge: the alchemy of five audits

What the scan produced was ore; merging was the alchemy. stage_merge2.py fused 1597 lorebook entries, 614 character clusters (327 of them assembled from two or more batches), and 1633 fortune and plot events into one, passing through five rounds of provenance audit from v2 to v2.5. The audit tool pathq.py performed BFS provenance tracing plus alias voting — every piece of information about every character had to trace back to its originating chapter; and the iron rule was one line: disputed entries are adjudicated by original-text context alone. Never split the difference.

IV. The heavenly card: a world of 1815 entries

The final card’s lorebook is 1815 entries and 274,000 characters: 278 character entries (S-tier 24, A-tier 42, B-tier 62, C-tier 150, each carrying a “System Intelligence / Fortune Line” marker), 1484 world entries, 17 script-library chapters plus index, and 33 rule/system/NSFW/MVU/supplementary entries. The main card “Xian Ni · Plunder System” is not a character card; it is a world card: the AI serves triple duty as narrator, all NPCs, and the system Lvetian, while the player transmigrates in their own identity.

The system’s dual-persona design is admirably crafty: toward the host, respectful and credit-claiming, answering everything asked without concealment (the iron law of absolute submission); toward others, cold and black-bellied, sizing everyone up as prey of “fortune / opportunity / connections / companions” — but those words are spoken only in the host’s ear, never audible to NPCs. The plunder engine’s five means are all present: intercepting fortune, severing others’ fortune, splitting bonds to steal companions, courting the single, and direct fate-theft; the moment a target is locked, a System Plunder Audit brief appears listing fate value, fortune countdowns, bond chains, weaknesses, and three strategies ranked upper/middle/lower. The script library is omniscient yet well-behaved: the host may query “what will so-and-so obtain next,” with intelligence delivered as a “system report” — never breaking immersion; and once plot deviation exceeds forty percent, deductive precision automatically decays — even the omniscient must pay for the world’s stubbornness.

One gravity line deserves the record: Wang Lin is the original protagonist, the foremost child of destiny, the fattest sheep of all — interceptable, influenceable, never annihilated without cost — for his death would be a world-line collapse event. The highest respect for an original world is to admit it has its own gravity.

V. Delivery

The main card PNG is 5.6MB (both chara and ccv3 data blocks), with the MVU-ZOD variable tree and five status-bar regexes embedded and six opening scenarios; validation shows zero problems and zero gaps, all five regexes pass simulation, and the PNG reads back correctly. The finished card is installed directly into the SillyTavern characters directory, with JSON, a standalone lorebook, and a 2MB card pack waiting in the desktop delivery folder. The project itself is 807 files and 70MB — from every preprocessing script to every audit revision, all traceable.
