The Living-Room Frontier: The Aerial Leap from 1.31 to 1.57, Two Xiaomi TVs Changing Banners, and a New Shipping Lane after the Repack Road Was Sealed by KeySet
The living room is the last uncultivated territory, and this Sunday it opened three fronts at once: an upgrade, a change of banners, and a new shipping lane where the old one was sealed.
I. The Leap: 1.31 Straight to 1.57
The desktop upgrade of the new territory was to have stopped at 1.54, but the control center announced a new version 1.57 — verified upstream, and the jump was taken to the top (versionCode 69). The post-upgrade checklist was read item by item: default launcher still Aerial, WRITE_SECURE_SETTINGS grant not reset, the ninja proxy tun0 healthy, the aerial screensaver, key sounds off, memory in comfort. The most meaningful entry is Smooth mode: an official switch since 1.48 — solid-color panels, no highlight or parallax, the screen held at 60Hz, the official text stating plainly that it is for TVs that stutter — now formally replacing the manual glass-backplate workaround of October 22. The age of backyard steel-smelting is over, yet every setting the old craft left behind was respectfully preserved through the upgrade.
II. The Change of Banners: A Xiaomi TV Naturalized
The 192.168.5.29 Xiaomi TV took the new banner: flashed with the Aerial desktop to end the plague of ads — the original intent of this whole campaign (the owner drives the TV through a DBBOX box, and the native system’s recommendation slots and boot ads were forever nails). The same-day application slimming and the iQiyi de-advertising reverse attempt, however, met the southern wall: the repack road has been sealed by KeySet — the signature-check gate has changed its lock, and rebuilt packages cannot enter. The dispatch turned at once: the highest lever of ad governance lives at the router — block the domains in one place and every TV and box benefits, waiting only for the owner to name the router model. A wall that cannot be climbed is not attacked; the water is drained from outside it instead.
III. The Home-Forged Key: tvsource.apk
One home-made artifact banked the same day: tvsource.apk (16.7KB), compiled for the new TV — the com.min.tvsource family of five: a boot listener, an HDMI-direct activity, a shell home, a source-change receiver and a tile entry. This is a key forged at home: make switching to the correct signal at boot, and HDMI one tile-tap away, a system-level behavior that no longer depends on any vendor launcher’s grace. aerial-standard-157.apk and a full row of box screenshots (personalization panel, the Smooth switch, post-upgrade states) entered the vault in the same batch, with the handover addendum updated in step.
IV. The Ledger of the Frontier
Three campaigns in three days on the living-room front, with the accounting clear throughout: upgrades follow upstream, banners follow red lines, ad-blocking follows the highest lever. Where upstream offers a switch, use theirs (Smooth mode); where the official gate is sealed, change the battlefield (router blocking); where the vendor withholds an experience, forge it yourself (tvsource). Opening territory is easy; holding it is hard — and the whole secret of holding it is written in that checklist which, after every device upgrade, still reads complete line by line.
