Founding the Kings Avatar Realm: 1,726 Chapters and the Fifty-Seven Masks of Ye Xiu

2026-10-14 · ~7 min read · The Kings Avatar · character card · book-splitting pipeline · Ye Xiu · merge audit

The rivers and mountains of an esports novel are harder to measure than any cultivation world — because half its “characters” are game IDs, and behind the game IDs stands the same person. On this day, The Kings Avatar is founded at the end of the book-splitting pipeline, leaving behind a merge-audit history worth studying by every book-splitter.

I. Three header formats and one million-character mega-batch

The source file is gb18030-encoded, 5.6 million characters. The very first pilot batch hit an anomaly: one batch reached 1.06 million characters (normally about 40k) — from chapter 1403 the headers became the ☆、Chapter 1403 format, so 327 chapters went undetected and merged into one giant batch. The whole book actually has three header formats: Chapter X (1-1402), ☆、Chapter X (1403-1728, including one misprinted “yi”), and 【Chapter X】 (one instance). A dialogue line “first round over…” was also misjudged as a header by the character “hui.” After fixing the ingest regex and adding a “discard empty-shell headers” filter (chapter 1585 appeared twice; the ☆、 line was an empty duplicate title), the chapter count was set at 1,726, with batch sizes all landing in the 21k-58k character range.

II. The truth of the gateway 429

By batch eight, 429s had repeatedly squeezed the adaptive gate down to 1. Sequential large requests all passed and small requests all passed — the 429s came from concurrency. Reproducing and reading the response body yielded key intelligence: “concurrency reached, current: 9, limit: 8” — the gateway enforces a global concurrency limit of 8, shared by all users, not a per-key quota. Parameters were tuned accordingly (start at 4 concurrency, request timeout 1200s→300s to prevent hangs — one request had once hung for twenty minutes). Midway, two harness false reports also occurred (a task showing “complete” while the python process was alive but its tee pipe had broken, the main thread dying of BrokenPipeError; an exit-127 false report) — per toolkit discipline, disk reality was the arbiter, and the job was restarted with direct file redirection. Finally all 173/173 batches were scanned: 6,239 character entries / 6,864 worldview entries / 2,575 events.

III. The 74 “members” of the Ye Xiu cluster

The merge produced 569 clusters, but the Ye Xiu cluster had wrongly absorbed 74 members — Zhou Zekai, Han Wenqing, Wang Jiexi, Fang Rui, Mo Fan, a whole batch of protagonists, plus generic tokens like “captain / great god / Happy” serving as bridges. The adjudications after tracing each bridge edge are the finest part of this audit history:

The merge was finalized at 583 clusters with hubs cleared and 17 female clusters (the three leads Su Mucheng / Chen Guo / Tang Rou fully covered). One hidden risk was put on record: canonical selection uses set iteration (Python hash randomization), which can flip on ties (Jianqi Suozhi ↔ Jianfeng Suozhi, Shahan ↔ Lengying) — after the merge was finalized, merge was never re-run.

IV. The coronation and an honest warning

Manual review of the handwritten layers caught two issues: the alternate-openings file had a duplicate passage from the default opening mixed in at its head (only 4 alternates), restructured into 1+5=6 sets (adding the “Realm of Gods” timepoint); first_mes panel luck points 100 / combat power 5 clashed with the config opening parameters 0/0, aligned. During assembly, 11 empty files (the LLM returned empty content yet gen_one still wrote and reported OK — the same source as the scan-phase json-fail) were deleted and re-run, including the female characters Dai Yanqi and Cheng Siyan; Gai Caijie took multiple retries. The final 4,864 entries: 182 characters (S53/A33/B46/C50) + 2,081 world entries (techniques-artifacts 667, rules 637, locations 216, factions 144) + 2,575 script-library entries + 8 rules / 6 system / 7 NSFW / 4 MVU, 6 openings, PNG 4.6 MB read-back consistent, validate 0 ISSUES.

The single warning “conquest hints 17 < 20” was re-examined per the iron rule and found to be a generic-threshold heuristic — the book has exactly 17 named women, all covered; six “unknown gender” names were checked one by one and all were male or genderless monsters, none missed. The whole run used only step-5-preview, the toolkit original was untouched, and the desktop delivery (The Kings Avatar - Plunder Card) includes README and validate-report.
